Xavier (N.Y.) defensive end Malik Fisher has signed his Letter of Intent to play football at Villanova, the school announced this morning.
A 6’3" 220 lb. prospect, Fisher is a bit raw in this stage of his development, but he has a ton of upside given the athletic ability he displayed at the high school level both on the defense line and on offense where he lined up as a tight end. There’s a reason that rivals Fordham, New Hampshire and Maine all offered scholarships.
Villanova has opted to redshirt some players in recent years, and Fisher looks like he could fit in that mold. He’s got a great frame to add weight and in due time should be able to jump into the rotation.
