Northeast (Pa.) safety Jaquan Amos has signed his Letter of Intent to play football at Villanova, the school announced this morning.
A 6’0" 175 lb. prospect, Amos also held offers from Army, Albany, Stony Brook and New Hampshire. Very much in the mold of current All-American Rob Rolle, Amos is a ballhawk in the defensive backfield who excels once the ball is in his hand whether via a turnover or on special teams. He was named 1st Team All-League, All-City and All-State in 2016.
With the graduation of Shayne Jones, Villanova has an open starting spot in the defensive backfield. Because the cornerback depth chart is loaded we could see Trey Johnson deputize here as he did last season, but there does appear to be PT available.
