Nottingham (N.Y.) athlete Jevon Jones has signed his Letter of Intent to play football at Villanova, the school announced this morning.
A 6’1" 175 lb. prospect, Jones starred as a high school quarterback in upstate New York. He chose the Wildcats over New Hampshire in yet another recruiting win for the ‘Cats over their CAA rivals. He was named 1st Team All-League, All-Central New York, and All-State.
Jones isn’t likely to play QB at Villanova - the official team Twitter account has him listed in the defensive backfield - but he’s a big time athlete to keep an eye on as he develops at the college level.
With Jones position likely in the defensive backfield, it is still to be determined whether he’ll be a safety or cornerback. Athletes are always interesting to keep an eye on during fall camp, and we’ll see where he fits in best soon enough.
