Does Villanova have the depth to repeat as National Champions?

Villanova Mug Arizin Links

Happy Tuesday, ‘Nova Nation! Another night, another easy W (and without Darryl Reynolds). But Villanova’s short rotation has got the talking heads wondering whether they’re going to last. Noted Villanova support Seth Davis does as much in the article below.

But here’s the thing: 7-man rotations really aren’t all that uncommon. Duke won it all in 2015 playing just 7 players. And late in the season, almost all coaches starting riding their best guys. Even John Calipari abandoned the famed platoon in 2014 once the NCAA Tournament started.

All of this is to say that I just don’t buy into that line of thinking. Plus Dylan Painter looked the part of a rotation player last night. Yeah, it was DePaul. But progress!
