Villanova will be shorthanded again this afternoon when they host the Creighton Bluejays for Senior Day at the Pavilion. ESPN’s Jeff Goodman reported that Jay Wright ruled Darryl Reynolds out for today’s game, making it 4 straight games that the Senior has missed.

But there is hope! Wright also said he expects Reynolds to be ready for the Big East Tournament. This would line up with the original 2-3 week recovery timeline for what is being deemed a rib injury, but is commonly believed to be a bruised sternum.
While a 6-man rotation isn’t ideal, that’s exactly the reason Wright is playing it safe with Reynolds. Better to have him healthy come Tournament Time™ than to have the injury worsen.
Bonus: we may get more Dylan Painter! But even if the staff decides to roll with their top six, they should have enough to handle Creighton and Georgetown before the conference tournament kicks off in Madison Square Garden.
