Villanova moved up two spots to #2 in Monday’s AP poll. It was a hectic week in college hoops as 6 out of the Top 10 teams suffered losses. The ‘Cats, however, weren’t one of them. With six first place votes Villanova now only trails #1 Gonzaga, who has the other 59 first place votes.

The Wildcats are joined in the rankings by three other Big East teams this week. Butler fell six spots to #22 after losing at home to Creighton. Creighton in turn lost at home to Xavier, and so they dropped a spot to #23. Xavier, who had fallen out of the Top 25 last week, returns to the poll at #24.

Villanova will have a much tougher week as they take on Georgetown and home on Tuesday before traveling to #24 Xavier this weekend.
