Top-100 guard A.J. Reeves committed to the Providence Friars today at their Elite Camp, per reports. Rivals’ Corey Evans appeared to have the news first.

This is a big win for Ed Cooley and Providence, which has been recruiting Reeves and his teammate David Duke for a long time. For Villanova, it takes a great option off the board as they seek guards to fill out their backcourt. Reeves is an excellent shooter with an advanced offensive game. He likely won’t be somebody we enjoy playing the next few years.
Villanova is still chasing several players in the backcourt. Jahvon Quinerly, Elijah Weaver and David Duke appear to be at the top of the list, and Dane Goodwin recently received and offer and visited as well.
With the July live period about to begin, more official visits should be occurring in the coming weeks and the recruiting timelines of these prospects should begin to clear up.
