Villanova Basketball’s All-Time Leading Steals List: 2017 Update

Mikal Bridges is quickly making his way up the list

NCAA Basketball: Creighton at Villanova Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

The offseason is here, presenting us with an opportunity to refresh and publish the Villanova’s All-Time Lists. We kick off the stats review by looking at the Wildcats’ Career Leaders in Steals. The list includes all 41 Villanova players who have tallied at least 100 career steals, and this season added two new names to the list.

With Josh Hart, Kris Jenkins, and Darryl Reynolds graduating, the school is losing 297 career steals, including two players in Hart and Jenkins with 100+ each. Hart finishes 16th on the All-Time list with 160 steals, while Jenkins just makes it over the hump with 101.

Rising junior Mikal Bridges is quickly climbing up the list, tying the record for the 4th most steals in a season by a sophomore with 61. He also becomes just the 5th Villanova player ever to have 100+ steals in their first two seasons, joining Kerry Kittles, Kyle Lowry, Lance Miller, and Jonathan Haynes.
