Defensive back Christian Benford became Villanova Football’s second verbal commitment from the 2018 class late Monday night. He announced the decision on Twitter.
Benford picked up his offer just recently on June 22nd following one of Villanova’s Prospect Camps. He picked Villanova over Morgan State and others.
Benford attends Randallstown High School in Maryland, due Northwest from Baltimore. He stands at 6’0”, 180 lbs, and was 1st team All-County and 1st team All-Division in his junior season.
The Maryland native plays both ways for his high school team. In addition to playing safety, he also lines up at wide receiver. At Villanova, however, he projects on the defensive side.
His speed, quickness, and overall athleticism will make him a valuable asset no matter where he lines up. Benford also has good strength, and has no problem making a tackle in the open field. Check out Benford’s Junior season highlights:
Welcome to ‘Nova Nation, Christian!
