The Villanova Wildcats staff has extended their first new offer of the July LIve Period to 4-star point guard Jalen Carey. 247’s Andrew Slater was first on Twitter.

Carey is a 6’3” 170 lb. lead guard who attends Immaculate Conception (N.J.) and plays for the NJ Playaz on the Nike EYBL circuit. Carey, currently ranked #60 in the 247 Composite, has exploded this spring and summer with his strong play and currently holds offers from Kansas, Arizona, Syracuse, Connecticut, Indiana and plenty more.
Carey is an explosive guard who can get to the rim at will. He’s got good size and length for the backcourt as well that should enable him to develop into a plus-defender. It’s easy to see in the highlights below why some of college basketball’s best have entered into his recruitment.
Villanova spent plenty of time this winter scouting Carey, but waited until now to extend an offer. Whether that’s an indication of other targets or just the staff just needing to see more before they jumped in is irrelevant - Carey is a player and it would be great to land him and bring him to the Main Line.
