Mark Ferrante and his staff have remained hot on the recruiting trail, but they didn’t have to look far to find this Class of 2018 prospect.
Garrett Zobel, a two-way lineman at nearby La Salle College High School, announced that he received an offer on Wednesday.

Zobel has received a ton of Division I interest and has fielded a number of offers from FBS and FCS schools since March.
Aside from Villanova, he also has offers from Army, Ball State, Fordham, Lehigh, Robert Morris, Monmouth, New Hampshire, Harvard, Elon, as well as fellow CAA members Delaware, Richmond, and Elon.
This past season, he was an all-Catholic League first team selection as a defensive lineman and a second team pick as an offensive guard. Aside from excelling on the gridiron, he is also a standout on La Salle College High School’s wrestling team.
The 6-foot-3, 275-pound lineman is fun to watch on defense. He stays low and engages his man. At the defensive tackle position for the Explorers, he was a bull rusher. He blows his blocker off the ball and drives him back. He doesn’t get cute with finesse moves, Zobel looks to drive through his man. He would be an ideal fit at nose guard for the Wildcats’ 3-3 stack defense.
