Villanova offers 2019 guard Isaiah Wong

This one felt like it was a matter of time

It’s offer day at the Villanova Wildcats basketball offices. Jay Wright and staff just sent out their second offer of the day to 2019 4-star guard Isaiah Wong. Pat Lawless with the scoop again.

A 6’2” guard, Wong should be a familiar name for most of you around these parts. The 4-star combo guard attended Notre Dame High School (N.J.) this past season and plays on the Under Armour circuit with WE-R-1. He has since transferred to Bonner-Prendergast in the Philadelphia Catholic League.

He already holds offers from Connecticut, Seton Hall, Miami (Fla.) and Pittsburgh among others. While listed as a shooting guard, he’s more of a combo-guard in that he can both facilitate an offense or take on a scoring burden. Think Phil Booth, if you are looking for a current ‘Nova comparison.

Wong attended several Villanova home games this past season and the staff watched him closely during the July Live Period. He also attended the Villanova Team Camp. Given his skillset, locality and his interest in the program this offer is a no-brainer and Wong would be a great fit on the Main Line.
