That escalated quickly! The top remaining target on the Villanova Wildcats recruiting board, 5-star point guard Jahvon Quinerly, will be making his verbal commitment tonight during the SC30 Select Game on ESPNU.
Recruiting update: Jahvon Quinerly the no.16 overall player in the class of 2018 tells ESPN that he will make... https://t.co/39wvahvoND

Here’s the need to know on how to watch Quinerly’s commitment, which is down to Villanova and the Arizona Wildcats:
Time: 9pm ET
Location: Kezar Pavilion (San Francisco, Calif.)
TV: ESPNU
Live Stream: WatchESPN
If I had to stage a guess, the commitment will come either before the game, at halftime (most likely), or after the game. But tune into the entire thing to make sure you don’t miss it.
What To Expect: Quinerly looked set to see out his recruitment through at least September when he scheduled official visits to UCLA Bruins and Kansas Jayhawks, but those obviously won’t happen now.
The Hackensack (N.J.) native will select between Arizona and Villanova tonight instead. Both schools already have impressive classes - 4-stars Cole Swider & Brandon Slater at ‘Nova and Brandon Williams & Shareef O’Neal at ‘Zona - but Quinerly would represent a major coup for each. Both Jay Wright and Sean Miller are seeking a point guard (or a second in Miller’s case), and Quinerly is one of the best in the country.
247’s Crystal Ball has basically been a runaway train for Arizona since Quinerly visited Tuscon in late June, but as of this post there’s been a fresh pick from Villanova (from Villanova writer Eric Watkins) and a fresh pick for Arizona from Maryland writer Josh Stirn (who had stuck with his Villanova pick up until today).
This feels like a surprise move from Quinerly, and nobody seems to have a good feel (yet) on where he’ll land.
Prediction: Arizona.
Villanova had been the perceived leader for Quinerly for over a year, but Arizona surged to the front following his official visit. I’ve talked to several people and quite frankly, I’m getting different answers.
I was optimistic this morning with the surprise announcement, but more people are saying Arizona than Villanova at the time of this post.
