With the Villanova Wildcats staff still working hard to land a guard to close out the 2018 class, news on the 2019 cycle has been rather slow. Expect that to change with Villanova’s Big East schedule ramping up, and they’ll host their first visitor for Xavier Musketeers visit to the Wells Fargo Center next Wednesday.
Class of 2019 G @khalifbattle24 will visit Villanova 1/10 for the Xavier game. Will no longer visit Butler this week but is still considering them. pic.twitter.com/sxd2646Uj5

If the last name sounds familiar, it is. Khalif Battle is the younger brother of current Syracuse Orange guard and former ‘Nova target Tyus Battle. The younger Battle is a 6’5” guard in a similar mold to his older brother. He attends Gil St. Bernard’s (N.J.) and plays for Team Final on the EYBL circuit. He’s rated a 4-star guard at #130 in the 247 Composite.
He would fit well into Villanova’s system. He had a strong AAU season over the summer and should post big numbers in high school this winter. He’s a very good scorer with deep range on his shot.
Getting him on campus for a big game is a nice job by the coaching staff. Expect to see familiar rivals like Syracuse, Miami and UConn after Battle.
