Villanova Football Recruiting: Wide Receiver Andrew Perez commits

Perez, a well-rounded wideout, verbally commits as a Wildcat for the class of 2018.

2018 Villanova commit Andrew Perez will provide a boost the receiving corps to the Wildcats’ roster this coming 2018-19 season.

‘Nova football adds the 6-foot-3, 205-pound receiver from Seton Hall Prep (N.J.) .

Currently in his senior year, Perez was recruited to Villanova, as a wideout with great hands—while boasting a solid build and explosiveness.

This past season, he wrapped up his high school career with his best showing yet. Through 10 games, he had 56 catches for 939 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Perez is known at Seton Hall Prep to outmuscle defenders and come down with the football.

In high school, he played against some of the most outstanding, top-notch defenders. He posted impressive performances against New Jersey powers like Don Bosco Prep, where he finished with a 100-yard game. Against eventual undefeated state champion Montclair, he shined with a 12 reception, 214-yard game—hauling in four touchdowns in the loss. He is a both a great leaper and leader, and again, is explicitly known in the state of New Jersey to have phenomenal hands.

By the time he arrives at Villanova’s campus, looking at the wide receiver position, Andrew Smith Adeyemi DaSilva, Sam Shaud, Alex Padovani, and Jarrett McClenton will be seniors. Hayden Sernyak, Brandon Chadbourn, Changa Hodge, and Zac Kerxton will be juniors. Tahj Powell, Robert Brady, and Julian Liaci will be sophomores. Josh McGrigg will be a redshirt sophomore, while Taurus Phillips and Will Harris will have graduated.
