Villanova Basketball’s Eric Paschall is a Top 5 Senior this season

Two Cats appear in the CBS Top 101 players for 2018-19

Happy Thursday Nova Nation! CBS put out their Top 101 players for the upcoming season, and two Wildcats made the list. Eric Paschall comes in at #17, which makes him the 5th best senior on the list and the 3rd best player in the Big East. Phil Booth comes in considerably lower at #58 as the only other Wildcat on the list.

It’s a little surprising that breakout candidates like Jahvon Quinerly or Collin Gillespie didn’t make the list, but there are A LOT of college basketball players out there. Equally as interesting as which Villanova players made the list was how many of Nova’s opponents were listed.

Here are the Top 101 players that the Wildcats will (or could) face this season:

That’s a total of 15 players that Nova could face out of the Top 101. Four of their opponents (Kansas, St. John’s, LSU, and Marquette), also had multiple players make the list. Kansas had the most of any of Nova’s opponents this season with four. The Big East was under-represented on the list, only getting eight players from five teams (that includes Villanova).

The bottom line is Villanova will face some talented players this season, and they’ll see them early on too. They’ll need their own Top 101 guys to help carry the team while the new guys get up to speed.

In other “news”, Nova should run the Big East, Donte DiVincenzo isn’t broke anymore, and Villanova Football needs a win. Enjoy!
