The perfect gift for someone with 480 square feet of empty space.

Happy Wednesday Nova Nation! I’m no expert on home improvement, but I’ve gathered that hardwood floors are a nice touch. Well if you’ve been looking to upgrade, but have been waiting for something special, have I got a deal for you!

1985 Pavilion LLC, the company that’s been auctioning off original and crafted items from the remnents of the old Pavilion, have recently been selling off pieces of the court. While the general consensus is that it’s a bit pricey, they’re certainly nice collectors pieces. Well the “prized jewel” of the old Pavilion is about to go up for auction on Friday: The Center Court \V/.

While the idea of owning the old center court is pretty cool, it’s got to be a pretty select group of alumni that might actually bid on this thing. First off, not everyone has a 24x20 foot space available to install/display this piece of Villanova Basketball history. Second, the auction is starting at $18,000 and will be going for two days. William Finneran paid $22.6 million for a new center court, how much do you think the old one goes for? Besides, if you do need a new hardwood floor there are probably more cost effective options.

In other “news”, Eric Paschall still looking like a first round NBA pick, Darryl Reynolds to record another episode of his talk show at Lower Merion, and the NBA ‘Cats are still killing it in the pros. Enjoy!

Dave Smart is not just any college basketball coach. Smart is a defensive guru, a legend in the sport, to whom Division I’s top coaches regularly make pilgrimages to learn at his feet. The only reason you haven’t heard of him is that those pilgrimages are to the outskirts of Ottawa, where Smart runs what might be North America’s most dominant college hoops program. Jay Wright calls him “One of the smartest basketball coaches I’ve ever met.”
