Ever since their one week absence from the AP Poll, Villanova has been steadily climbing back up the ranks of the countries best teams. After Big 5 wins at home over Temple and St. Joe’s, the Wildcats now stand at #17 in Week 6 of the poll.
It’s going to be a big week for the Wildcats, both close to home and away. First they’ll take on Penn at the Palestra with a chance at winning their 6th consecutive outright Big 5 Title. Then, they’ll head out to Lawrence, Kansas to take on the newly ranked #1 Kansas Jayhawks in a rematch of last year’s historic Final Four game.
Villanova is joined in the Top 25 by fellow Big East contender Marquette, fresh off their win over previously #12 Wisconsin. Other Big East teams receiving votes include St. John’s (57), Butler (2), and Seton Hall (1).
