AP Basketball Poll: Villanova remains on the outside of the Top 25.

‘Cats excluded from poll for second consecutive week. Duke is your new #1

In a week that saw Villanova (9-4) manage a single victory over unranked Connecticut, the Wildcats, remain out of the AP’s Top 25 in the newest poll released on Christmas Eve Day.

Duke ascended to the top spot this week, with Michigan, Tennessee, Virginia, and Kansas (last week’s #1) rounding out the top 5.

The BIG EAST is solely represented by Marquette at #18. St. John’s and Seton Hall also received votes alongside ‘Nova.

Villanova next plays on Wednesday, January 2nd, when they host DePaul to open the BIG EAST Conference part of their schedule.
