The Big East announced its all-conference teams on Wednesday morning.
Two Wildcats—Alex Louin and Mary Gedaka—were honored and recognized for their play this season.
Louin, a senior guard, was named to the All-Big East second team. She led the Wildcats in scoring and rebounding, averaging 11.9 points and 6.7 boards. Louin is a tough player, one that wasn’t afraid to crash the board or drive inside. She played with a certain kind of physicality that made her an asset on both ends of the court. She was also capable of draining shots from long range. This season, she converted on 45.2 percent of her shot takes.
As for Gedaka, she was the Wildcats’ second-highest scorer right behind Louin, despite coming off of the bench. Gedaka was a sparkplug and brought a lot of energy whenever she came onto the floor. She hit the double-digit scoring mark in 12 of the last 14 games of the regular season. Gedaka is an efficient scorer, making 60.3 percent of her shots—a conference-best. This season, the sophomore forward averaged 11.6 points and 5.1 rebounds.
