After spending the last few years in the WNIT, the Villanova women’s basketball team is headed to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2013.
The Wildcats finished 22-8 going into this week, and they have secured an at-large bid in this year’s tournament.
They will start things off against the Summit League champions, the South Dakota State Jackrabbits. The Jackrabbits enter the tournament with a 26-6 record and will be the eighth seed.
The ‘Cats are in the Spokane region of the bracket. They will head to South Bend, Ind. to begin tournament play against the Jackrabbits on Friday night. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET and will be featured on ESPN2.
Whoever advances will face the winner of Notre Dame and Cal State Northridge.
