Villanova’s Jalen Brunson was named the BIG EAST’s 2018 Player of the Year at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday afternoon. The 6’3” Lincolnshire, IL native was also named the conference’s Scholar Athlete of the Year.
Brunson, who was named a finalist for the nation’s best point guard on Monday, is second in the conference in scoring at 19.0 points per game while adding 4.8 assists and 3 rebounds.
The junior becomes the fifth Wildcat to win the award following in the footsteps of Kerry Kittles, Randy Foye, Ryan Arcidiacono, and Josh Hart.
