Jay Wright believes the Big East Tournament Championship is important for Villanova

Recent history leaves this up for debate though.


TGIF, ‘Nova Nation! Villanova throttled Marquette good last night, and we’ll be looking for more of the same tonight.

(At the time of this scheduled post, the opponent is up in the air!)

One thing I found surprising was Jay Wright’s insistence that the Big East Tournament really matters. I get it, to a degree. Jay wants to lock up a top seed and I agree that is important.

I would just offer that recent history indicates that winning your conference tournament doesn’t really mean much for March success (for Villanova, and the eventual National Champion as well).
