Eric Dixon commits to Villanova

The Abington forward is staying home.

The Villanova Wildcats are off and running in the 2019 recruiting class. 4-star forward Eric Dixon (Abington, Pa.) has announced he will stay home and play for Jay Wright on the Main Line.

City of Basketball Love has an exclusive interview with Dixon if you want the quotables on why he selected Villanova.

Dixon is currently ranked #114 in the 247 Composite, and plays AAU for WE-R-1 (Under Armour). Listed between 6’6” and 6’7”, he’s an undersized but bulky forward who has both a solid low-post game and extended range on his jumpshot. He’s also a member of USA Basketball.

If you are in to Villanova player comps, Kris Jenkins looks like a good one. Like Big Smoove, Dixon will need to work on his body once he gets to the Main Line for him to truly reach his potential. Dixon has been praised for his motor and toughness, so getting him to buy into the John Shackleton self-improvement program shouldn’t be too hard of a sell.

There’s a premium put on versatility under Wright’s watch, so this looks like a really solid addition to the roster with Eric Paschall set to depart before Dixon arrives.

Welcome to ‘Nova Nation, Eric! It’s a great day to be a Wildcat!
