Might Villanova be active in the grad transfer market? We have a report that Villanova Wildcats head coach Jay Wright has reached out to Albany Great Danes guard Joe Cremo. Cremo is eligible to play next season after graduating in 3 years.

Lina Bonavita is the local reporter covering Albany, so she’s close to the situation. Cremo has already taken a visit to Creighton and will trip to Texas this weekend.

On the surface, the interest makes sense. Donte DiVincenzo just declared for the NBA Draft, and if he opts to stay the backcourt starts to get a little thin.

I haven’t seen Cremo play so can’t vouch for his game, but the 6’4” guard averaged 17.8 ppg, 4.1 rgp and 3.8 apg on 45.8% 3P shooting last season. His 120 ORtg on high-usage (via KenPom) is pretty impressive too. On the surface, he’s a piece that could plug in and help right away on the offensive end.

Here’s some background on Cremo and his recruitment from early-April. Sounds like a guy that could help a team for a year and has the right attitude. Here are his Junior year highlights:
