Villanova Basketball awards ceremony honors the 2018 National Champions

There were laughs, tears, and a lot of hardware.

TGIF Nova Nation! Despite getting in a few extra reps this year, I once again was passed over in the first round of the NFL Draft last night. Here’s hoping for day 2! There’s actually a handful of Wildcats that could here their names called on Saturday, so fingers crossed for our guys!

But in the world of college basketball, last night was the Men’s Basketball Awards Ceremony. Lots of hardware was handed out, as Jalen Brunson, Mikal Bridges, Omari Spellman, Phil Booth, Donte DiVincenzo, and Eric Paschall were all honored with one of the team awards.

But my favorite part of the evening was the ending of Jalen Brunson’s speech. Of course he thanked his parents, coaches, and teammates, all of which were in attendance. And when I say all, I include his fellow starters on the 2016 National Championship team Ryan Arcidiacono, Daniel Ochefu, Kris Jenkins, and Josh Hart who were all in attendance. Before leaving the stage, Brunson left them all with a parting thought, “2018’s better!”

In other “news”, we’re gearing up for another weekend of recruiting and Villanova is set to dominate the Penn relays... again. Enjoy!
