Justin Moore commits to Villanova

The Villanova Wildcats have landed their second verbal commitment of the spring, with Top-100 guard Justin Moore announcing his pledge to the ‘Cats.

Moore chose Villanova over offers from Louisville, Maryland, Virginia, Notre Dame and Wake Forest. Moore took an unofficial visit to Villanova earlier this week which seems to have sealed the deal.

The DeMatha (D.C.) product is your prototypical combo-guard, and fills a big need on the roster with Phil Booth exhausting his eligibility after next season and Donte DiVincenzo’s status still undetermined. Moore plays for Team Takeover on the Nike EYBL circuit.

Moore stands 6’4” and is already a polished shooter from the outside. He also possesses a nice dribble-drive game where he can pull-up or get to the rim. Scouts have lauded him for his ability to read the game and attack the defense effectively and efficiently.

Moore is currently rated #58 in the 247 Composite, but looks like he might be in line for a bump based on his play this Winter and Spring. He’s been playing very well since coming back from an ACL injury he suffered last year. He joins Eric Dixon in Villanova’s 2019 recruiting class.

With Moore and Dixon in the fold, look for Villanova to shift their focus to the elite targets like Scottie Lewis, Nico Mannion and Isaiah Stewart as recruiting continues through the Summer.

Here’s a highlight reel from this past season of Moore’s monster performance in the WCAC semifinals.
