Villanova’s roster has room to grow this offseason

The Wildcats could still add two players this summer in Saddiq Bey and Reid Travis

Villanova Mug Arizin Links

Happy Wednesday Nova Nation! Sure seems like a great day to be a Wildcat, doesn’t it? Anyway, in a totally unrelated matter, 4-star SF Saddiq Bey will be on campus today for an official visit with Jay Wright and his staff. Bey had initially committed to NC State, but has since gone back on the market and already visited Vanderbilt. If everything goes well, Bey may be staying on campus as the newest member of the class of 2018.

Bey is one of two possible late additions to next year’s roster, along with grad transfer PF Reid Travis. Travis will graduate on Sunday, making him immediately eligible to play next season with one year of eligibility remaining. While Kentucky was rumored to be the landing spot for most of the offseason, the departure of Omari Spellman has thrust Villanova into the conversation. Travis is scheduled to visit both schools, and could make a decision by the end of the month if not sooner.

The Wildcats still have two open scholarships for next year, and since they play different positions its possible that both of these players could be added. Bey would join a stable of wing players that’s getting a little crowded, while Travis would step right into a starting role at a position of need. So today’s topic for discussion: Who will Villanova land to round out next year’s roster?
