Mikal Bridges, touted as a potential lottery pick this entire season, made good on those predictions by being drafted tenth by his hometown Philadelphia Sixers Thursday night in Brooklyn.
Bridges is the highest drafted Villanova player since Randy Foye went 7th overall in 2006. The 6-7, 210lbs wing averaged 17.7 points on 51.4% field goal shooting and 43.5% three-point shooting.
The three-year Villanovan will join a core consisting of Joel Embiid & Ben Simmons and projects to slot right in as a prototypical 3-and-D player.
UPDATE: 9:15p ET. Bridges will be heading to Arizona.
Suns are acquiring Mikal Bridges in a deal that will send Smith to Sixers, league source tells ESPN. Suns will send 2021 first-round pick via Miami in deal too.
