Happy Tuesday Nova Nation! It’s good to be back after being gone for over a week. It’s even better to be back with a victory over Temple to start out the football season. This isn’t like when Nova dominates the Owls in basketball every year, this is a big friggin’ deal. There are literally guys on Nova’s roster that Temple didn’t even consider recruiting, and yet it was the blue and white who were celebrating at the Linc on Saturday.
This was Villanova’s first win over an FBS school since defeating Temple back in 2009. Wait a minute, wasn’t that the season the Wildcats won the FCS Championship? What a coincidence! I’m not saying it WILL go down that way again, I’m just saying Zach Bednarczyk looked really good on Saturday.
The win also gives Villanova the lead back in the rivalry (17-16-2) after Temple tied things up last season. It’s a great way to kick off the scholastic year, and a big congrats goes out to Head Coach Mark Ferrante and the entire team. Next up is Lehigh, who the Wildcats have beaten in their past six consecutive games. Let’s make it seven!
In other “news”, Eric Paschall and Jahvon Quinerly are in for big years, Duke is edging out Nova for Antoine, and Kyle Lowry is still AMAZING. Enjoy!
