Hello, everyone. Chris here subbing in for Brendan who is down in Myrtle Beach to cheer on the ‘Cats. Not much of a Villanova focus today - we have a game don’t get greedy - so allow me to vent for a minute about the NCAA’s decision to suspend James Wiseman.
Most of you know I’m very anti-NCAA and believe the players should be compensated, believe they should be allowed to transfer without penalty and believe they should be entitled to one swift kick to Mark Emmert’s manhood (if it exists) per semester. Basically all their rules (or lack thereof the Emmert rule) suck.
Safe to say that rules were broken (I hate the rules, and this is borderline at best), the refusal/denial to sit Wiseman is a bad look and deserves some punishment. I just don’t know how you agree with the punishment handed down based on all of that.
If Wiseman took a benefit, he shouldn’t be eligible by the rules. Full stop. Somehow 12-games is the punishment. Moreover, they want him to pay back the money - that his family took while he was a minor - which he doesn’t have because he can’t get paid while competing. What the what?
F*ck the NCAA as a staff, record label and as a motherf*cking crew.
