Villanova Basketball rises to #18 in newest AP Poll

‘Nova will face the #1 Kansas Jayhawks on Saturday.

The Villanova Wildcats (8-2) took a small step up in the polls today, moving up two spots to #18 in the Week 7 of the 2019-2020 AP Poll. The ‘Cats went 1-0 last week with a victory over the Delaware Blue Hens in the Never Forget Classic.

Villanova’s next opponent, Kansas, is the newest #1 team as the Jayhawks received 47 of 65 first place votes and are the fifth school to hit #1 this season. Gonzaga, Louisville, Duke, and Ohio State round out the Top 5.

The Big East is also represented by Butler at #17. Xavier, Marquette, DePaul, Georgetown, and Seton Hall are “receiving votes”.
