Wildcats to Rock Throwbacks against Jayhawks

The Villanova Wildcats announced that they will be debuting a new throwback uniform during Saturday’s tilt against Kansas in honor of the 100th season of Villanova basketball.

I have a couple thoughts. It’s Friday and things are slow.

To start, these feel like uniforms that should have been worn against a Big 5 team, not the #1 team in the country in arguably the biggest game of the year. They look like a Marquette/Michigan hybrid and incorporate a color the team hasn’t worn in like fifty years.

I often wonder why, for instance, college football teams concoct some bizarre alternative uniform for their lone bowl appearance. I am always of the opinion that, for big moments, you should look, well, like yourself. While I appreciate the effort and the willingness to take risks, we should be going to battle tomorrow in nothing less than these:

Overall, I’m not a fan.
