Villanova Basketball rises to #20 in newest AP Poll

‘Cats improve in the writers’ rankings.

The Villanova Wildcats (7-2) took a small step up in the polls today, moving to #20 in Week 6 of the 2019-2020 AP Poll. The ‘Cats went 2-0 last week in Big 5 play with an 80-69 victory over Penn and a 78-66 win over St. Joseph’s.

Louisville and Kansas remain the top two schools in the country. Ohio State, who handed ‘Nova their first loss of the season, has jumped to #3 as Maryland and Michigan round out the Top 5.

Baylor, who is the owner of Villanova’s other defeat, is ranked #11.

The Big East is also represented by Butler at #18, Seton Hall is #22, and Xavier is at #23. Marquette and DePaul are “receiving votes”.
