On Tuesday evening Jaden Springer, the class of 2020 shooting guard out of IMG Academy, announced his final 11 schools as he begins to focus his recruitment:

Villanova had recently offered Springer just three days prior to this initial cut. The Wildcats were already familiar with Springer having seen him alongside class of 2019 commit Jeremiah Robinson-Earl, who will start his career at Villanova next month.

Jaden Springer is ranked as a 5-Star recruit by 247 Sports, and is currently 11th overall in the class of 2020. He’s the 4th best shooting guard in the class, and the third best player coming out of Florida. The early Crystal Ball votes have him heading to UNC.

Villanova is going to be a strong contender as Springer’s recruitment continues, but it’s also clear that geographically they are the outlier of the remaining candidates. All of the other 10 schools are located in the South, closer to the warmer weather Springer’s grown accustomed to at IMG. Also, with the exceptions of Memphis, Maryland, and Villanova, eight of the final eleven schools are either in the ACC or SEC.

The full list of schools that remain in the hunt for Springer includes Auburn, Florida, Maryland, Memphis, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Tennessee, Villanova, and Wake Forest.
