Villanova Media released a Friday evening news bomb noting that incoming Freshman Bryan Antoine, a cornerstone recruit in Jay Wright’s 2019 Recruiting Class, underwent surgery on Friday to address his right shoulder.
Antoine, a 6’5” guard from New Jersey, is expected to miss 4-6 months to rehab his shooting shoulder.
Adam Zagoria is noting that Antoine may have played his entire senior season at Raney HS with a torn labrum.
The McDonald’s All-American would begin rehab immediately, and could be ready as early as October or during the Holiday Season with the more conservative estimate.
Antoine is ranked 16th in the Class of 2019 Recruit Rankings by 247 Sports. He is joined in the Villanova Class of 2023 with Chris Arcidiacono, Eric Dixon (#67), Justin Moore (#54), and Jeremiah Robinson-Earl (#15) which is ranked the fifth best recruiting class behind Memphis, Kentucky, Arizona, and Duke by 247 Sports.
