The main NBA Summer League in Las Vegas hasn’t started yet, but there’s a few NBA teams that are getting a head start.
The newest Villanova Wildcats to make the NBA are in the mix, as Eric Paschall (Golden State Warriors) and Phil Booth (Cleveland Cavaliers) hope to make a sound first impression in front of their new teammates and coaches.
Booth and the Cavaliers are playing in the Salt Lake City Summer League, which also features the San Antonio Spurs, Memphis Grizzliesand Utah Jazz.
Meanwhile, Paschall and the Warriors are heading to Sacramento for the California Classic, where they will join the Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat, and host Sacramento Kings.
Games for both leagues are played on July 1-3. For a schedule—and how to watch these two ‘Cats—click here.
Each time a former Wildcat hits the court for Summer League play, we will recap how they did and include a few highlights (if available). This will also serve as a discussion board. We will try to keep it updated as soon as the games are over, so check back often!
Phil Booth
The Cavaliers lost to San Antonio, 97-89. Booth logged 12 minutes off the bench. He missed all seven of his shot attempts, but he dished out two assists and put together a few nice series on defense.
