Villanova Basketball’s Ryan Arcidiacono signs a three year deal with Bulls

Arch has beaten out Kris Dunn... again.

Villanova Mug Arizin Links

Happy Wednesday Nova Nation! A few things to touch on before we all go an celebrate ‘Merica! First off, a huge congrats to Ryan Arcidiacono on a brand new 3 year deal with the Bulls. Originally, Arch had just been offered a one year qualifying offer, but this extension to three years shows the confidence they have in him to be the team’s backup behind rookie Coby White.

The more intriguing part of this deal for Big East fans is that it essential seals the deal on Chicago trying to move Kris Dunn in some type of trade. You’ll remember that Dunn and Arcidiacono shared the Big East Player of the Year honor in 2015 before Dunn won it outright in 2016. Arcidiacono of course one upped him back then with an NCAA Championship and Final Four MOP honor. It looks like Arch is about to come out on top again.

Switching from Nova’s past to its future, Jeremiah Robinson-Earl is proving to be every bit the player we thought he could be when he committed to the Wildcats. He’s a scoring threat from everywhere, solid rebounder, and an excellent passer. That last point will be especially valuable as I won’t be surprised to see the Wildcats play through him on the interior this season. Trust me when I say he could be the team’s MVP in 2020.

And lastly, big shout out to Eric Paschall who is already breaking out at Summer League. Despite a losing effort, the rookie put up a team high 18 points last night against the Lakers. He shot 6-8 from the floor and was perfect (2-2) from behind the arc. And of course, he did very Eric Paschall things:

Happy Early July 4th to everyone in the Nova Nation, and have a fun and safe holiday weekend!
