Villanova Football warms up for the season with practice in Ocean City

It was a great weekend of surf and astrotruf!

Happy Monday Nova Nation! Villanova Football had some fun in the sun over the weekend at their annual practice in Ocean City, NJ.

Plenty of Villanova fans were on hand to watch the team get ready for opening day, which is now just 12 days away. The Wildcats have the honor of playing in the first D1 football game of the season this year when they kickoff at Colgate on the 24th.

Friends and family were on hand as the Nova Nation was treated to plenty of fun at the open practice. And it wasn’t just the stars of the football team in attendance, former Villanova Basketball star Jalen Brunson was on hand to enjoy a day at the boardwalk as well!

The Wildcats are looking to bounce back from an injury plagued season in which the team limped to a 5-6 record for the second consecutive season. Now in his third year, head coach Mark Ferrante is looking for his first winning season since taking over for the legendary coach Andy Talley.

Ferrante’s squad was picked to finish 9th in the CAA’s preseason coaches poll, and yet Villanova still got some buzz in the release of the FBS Preseason Top 25. That should speak volumes to how loaded the CAA is this season, and how good the Wildcats could be.

In other “news”, Wildcats are impressing NFL teams, reactions to Team USA’s first scrimmage, and Villanova is projected to have two first round picks in the 2020 NBA Draft. Enjoy!
