Happy Game Day Nova Nation! The Wildcats play host to St. John’s tonight in the final game of the season at the Finn. However, the odds makers don’t think it will be much of a contest, favoring Villanova by double digits. So instead of focusing on the game, let’s take some time to talk about the other reason to tune in tonight.
Two celebrations will take place on the court when the game isn’t being played. First, the lone senior on this year’s team, walk-on Tim Saunders, along with a number of senior team managers will be honored in their final on campus game. But the more publicized celebration will be the retiring of Kyle Lowry’s jersey. That’s the same Kyle Lowry who got called for an offensive foul last night while trying to dribble not just the ball, but his entire body through his defender’s legs.

But in all seriousness, Lowry is the most accomplished NBA player to ever come out of Villanova under Jay Wright. He may have only spent two years on the Main Line, but he’s one of the most involved and giving alumni the program has. He helped put Jay Wright and Villanova back on the map with the ‘05 and ‘06 teams, and he did it with a flair uniquely his own.
But back to tonight’s game. With a big win expected, we should get to see some extended minutes from the bench. With that in mind, who will be Villanova’s leading scorer off the bench tonight?
