Saddiq Bey named as finalist for Julius Erving Award

Villanova’s Saddiq Bey has been named as one of the five finalists for the Julius Erving Award, an annual award given by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame to the top men’s collegiate small forward.

The award, which was won by the Wildcats’ own Josh Hart in 2017 and Mikal Bridges in 2018, is in its six year. It has previously been won by Arizona’s Stanley Johnson and Michigan State’s Denzel Valentine. Gonzaga’s Rui Hachimura took home the award last season.

Bey, a sophomore, is presently averaging 15.9 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game.
