Happy Friday Nova Nation! The Wildcats have at least two games left before Selection Sunday, four if they make it to the Big East Tournament run. In either situation, Villanova is in a great position as they prepare for the NCAA Tournament.

Right now, per bracketmatrix.com, Villanova would land as the top #3 seed. That said, there are more brackets that feature them on the 2 line than there are those where they drop to a #4 seed.

In reality, the Wildcats seeding likely depends on how they finish out the season. Should they run the table and win the Big East Tournament, it would be hard to imagine them anywhere but the #2 seed. If they lose their next two games, that probably knocks them down to the #4 line. But if they can win at least two games between now and Selection Sunday, I think that puts them squarely in line for at least a #3 seed.

If the Wildcats want to make the second weekend, a #2 seed would go a long way. 2 Seeds have a 63.9% chance to advance to the Sweet 16, as opposed to 50.4% for 3 Seeds and 46.4% for 4 Seeds. Of course, it will really all come down to who Villanova is matched up with in that first pod, but being a protected Top 4 seed already gives them an advantage over the other teams they’ll be facing when the NCAA Tournament kicks off in 2 weeks.

So let’s get a quick poll in. What will Villanova’s seed be in the NCAA Tournament?
