Villanova sophomore Saddiq Bey has been named to the All BIG EAST First Team as announced by the conference on Sunday morning.
Bey, who averaged 16.1 points and 4.7 rebounds per game this season, is joined on the list as a unanimous player with Seton Hall’s Myles Powell and Marquette’s Markus Howard. Butler’s Kamar Baldwin, Ty-Shon Alexander from Creighton, and Naji Marshall from Xavier also are on the First Team.

Villanova’s Colin Gillespie was named to the Conference’s 2nd Team alongside Marcus Zegarowski (Creighton), Paul Reed (DePaul), Alpha Diallo (Providence), and Tyrique Jones (Xavier).

The BIG EAST All-Freshman team was anchored by two Wildcats as Jeremiah Robinson-Earl and Justin Moore got the nod; the duo were the only unanimous selections and accounted for Freshman of the Week honors ten times. Romio Weems (DePaul), Julian Champagnie (St. John’s), Zach Freemantle (Xavier), and Kyky Tandy (Xavier) joined them.
The conference will announce Player of the Year, Coach of the Year, Freshman of the Year and the Scholar-Athlete of the Year on Wednesday (March 11). The conference’s Defensive Player of the Year, Most Improved Player, Sixth Man Award and Sportsmanship Award — will be announced on Monday.
