NBA Wildcat Watch: Bubble Edition (July 30)

No more scrimmages, the NBA is back!

NBA: Miami Heat at New Orleans Pelicans Chuck Cook-USA TODAY Sports

From Tuesday through Friday, each time a former Wildcat hits the court, we will recap how they did and include a few highlights (if available). On Tuesdays, we’ll also recap what happened over the weekend, so you don’t miss the action. This will also serve as a discussion board. We will try to keep it updated as soon as the games are over, so check back often!

After some scrimmages to get NBA players re-acclimated to the court, the NBA is back with official games that actually count. We’ll keep an eye on any former Villanova Wildcats that play. Thursday’s “re-opening day” only features one alumnus, Josh Hart (New Orleans Pelicans), but as the pros tip-off on the court again, be prepared for a more crowded slate of alumni moving forward.

Josh Hart

Hart and the Pelicans lost a tough one to the Utah Jazz, 106-104, after Rudy Gobert hit a pair of go-ahead free throws with 6.9 seconds remaining in the game.

Hart finished with 10 points on 4-of-7 shooting, with three boards, and an assist. He logged 22 minutes off the bench for New Orleans.

Up Next: vs. Clippers on Saturday, Aug. 1, at 6 p.m. ET (ESPN)

Friday’s Slate

There are two games with Wildcats in action on Friday. The Dallas Mavericks are also playing, but Jalen Brunson is not participating in the NBA Bubble, as he rehabs his shoulder.

  • Mikal Bridges: Phoenix vs. Washington, 4 p.m. ET (ESPN)
  • Donte Divincenzo: Milwaukee vs. Boston, 6:30 p.m. ET (ESPN)
