Villanova at #3 in first 2021 Poll

Gonzaga and Baylor ahead of ‘Cats in newest Poll

The Villanova Wildcats (8-1, 3-0) have improved to #3 in the newest AP Poll released on Monday despite not playing in the past week.

Gonzaga remains the nation’s #1 collecting 63 of the 64 First Place votes; Baylor, at #2, tallied the other First Place vote to stay at #2. Texas and Iowa round out the Top 5.

BIG EAST frenemies Creighton improved to #7. Seton Hall, Xavier, and Connecticut also represent the Conference in the “Also Receiving Votes” category.

The Villanova program is on a second mandatory COVID hiatus due to positive tests by two players. Nova’s next three games have been postponed.
