Will the Villanova Wildcats land another Class of 2022 commit on Thursday?

Cam Whitmore, a consensus top 40-ranked prospect is set to make his decision on Thursday afternoon. Whitmore, a five-star prospect according to 247 sports, will be announcing his commitment on CBS Sports HQ at 3 p.m. ET.

Whitmore narrowed his list of offers down to three — Villanova, Illinois, and North Carolina — back on Aug. 30.

The 6-foot-6, 200-pound forward took an official visit to ‘Nova on Sept. 17, after previously visiting the other two finalist schools in August.

He is considered the top prospect in Maryland by ESPN and 247 sports.

A standout at Archbishop Spalding High School in Maryland, and on the AAU circuit with Team Melo, Whitmore earned Baltimore Catholic League Player of the Year honors last season. He averaged 22.0 points and 11.7 rebounds a game.

The Wildcats currently have class of 2022 verbal commitments from Mark Armstrong (South Orange, N.J./St. Peter’s Prep) and most recently, Brendan Hausen (Amarillo, Texas/Amarillo).
