The 6’10” center, who started at Philadelphia’s Roman Catholic, has been rated as the #2 prospect in the class and is currently enrolled at Montverde Academy in Florida.
Villanova has been actively recruiting Duren alongside his Roman Catholic / Montverde teammate Justice Williams and offered them both on the first day that coaches could reach out to 2022 prospects last June.
247’s Brandon Jenkins described Duren as, “a total monster in the low post who commands a double team and always knows where it is coming from.”
Jenkins added...
He is more physical, athletic, and bigger than his peers which sums up to him being a pro in the making. He runs the floor, can explode off it where he shows value as a conscientious rebounder. His touch around the basket and ability to leap multiple times is noteworthy.
Duren is also considering Alabama, Auburn, Miami, Michigan, Memphis, Penn State, Kentucky, UCLA, as well as the NBA G League and the National Basketball League.
