Villanova Quartet Named to 2021 USA Basketball FIBA 3x3 U23 Nations League

USA Basketball announced on Friday that four Villanovans will represent the country for the conclusion of the 2021 FIBA 3x3 U23 Nations League.

Chris Arcidiacono, Eric Dixon, Trey Patterson, and Brandon Slater will face Netherlands, France, and Spain across three days during the first week of August in Voiron, France.

According to USA Basketball, “Twenty-six different national federations registered both men and women’s 3x3 teams for the 2021 FIBA U23 Nations League, with teams being allocated in five different conferences: Africa, Asia, Europe-America, Europe 1 and Europe 2. The U23 Nations League will help countries prepare talent for future international competition.”

The USA Women’s team of Kelsey Plum, Stefanie Dolson, Allisha Gray, and Jackie Young won the inaugural 3x3 Gold Medal at the Tokyo Games. The men’s squad did not qualify.
