The rising senior out of Severn, MD, who plays for Team Melo on the EYBL circuit, has burst on the scene in 2021 having jumped from outside of the Top 100 to a fringe Five Star at #27 in the 24/7 Rankings (and #46 by ESPN). In his updated list, the Archbishop Spalding wing eliminated Florida, Georgetown, Louisville, Maryland, Miami, Notre Dame, and Penn State.
With the expected loss of Jermaine Samuels, Brandon Slater and Caleb Daniels at the conclusion of the 2022 season, Whitmore could compete for minutes with Bryan Antoine, Trey Patterson and Jordan Longino.
Whitmore took an unofficial visit to the Main Line campus earlier this summer and supposedly lining up an official visit.
UPDATE: Whitmore has scheduled an Official Visit for September 17th.
2022 4 ⭐️ wing Cam Whitmore will take an official visit to Villanova Sept. 17, I’m told. The last of his final 3 schools to visit. Already visited UNC and Illinois officially. Could see a decision to follow in late September or early October. Program changing talent. pic.twitter.com/oVl01xzihA

Villanova’s Class of 2022 Commitments only includes guard Mark Armstrong at the moment. Jay Wright is most likely looking to add a wing and a ball handler. No timetable has been provided for a commitment.
