The ‘Cats will travel to Los Angeles to face the Bruins on November 12th to bolster Nova’s 2021-22 out of conference schedule. UCLA, who lost in the National Semifinal to Gonzaga, is projected to start the 2022 season as a Top 5 squad.
Jay Wright, who has a 3-1 record against UCLA, noted, “We’re looking forward to another major challenge on the road this season in one of the great venues of college basketball, Pauley Pavilion.”
Villanova leads the historical series, 3-2; after losing the National Championship to the Bruins in 1971 the pair of cross-country schools had a 30-year break in games before resuming in 2001 when UCLA defeated ‘Nova. Jay Wright has 3 straight victories in 2002, 2009 in the NCAA Tournament, and 2010.
UCLA will return to the East Coast in the second game of the Home & Home in the 2023-24 season.
